I hope Starr can make the race, especially since it's at his home track (and also the track where he made his Cup debut in 2011, a race I attended.) But that's not likely in Obaika equipment, I don't think, unless someone else doesn't make it out to the grid/fails inspection or something like that.

Still looks weird to have the NBC logo on there. Is Cat following Newman to RCR, or will they remain with Hemric? Do we know yet?

Blaney earns the pole with the second fastest qualifying time on a mile-and-a-half ever recorded, a run in the final round of over 200.5 MPH.

Apparently Carl Long's team failed to make a qualifying lap, so the Obaika car made the race by default.

This is the second time David Starr has driven for a team in their debut race at his home track. The first was Leavine Family Racing in the spring of 2011.

Yet another stupid rule in place from NASCAR. It seems like all these changes they make to try to "help" teams end up backfiring. Now we'll be under 40 cars for the last 2 races of the season again.

Carl Edwards is at the track this weekend, not sure why though.
