Timothy Peters will drive a 5th GMS Racing truck this weekend. It will be the #23 AutosByNelson.com Chevrolet. I'm glad they didn't kick him to the curb.

This may be the first chance for the trucks to use their new modified rulebook to set the lineup if qualifying is washed out Saturday morning.

Both Truck practices today got washed out. The trucks have already gone through pre-Qualifying/Race tech.
Sooo....tomorrow morning at 10am we will have 35 trucks qualifying within 15 minutes of round 1 without any practice. This should make the 1st round results very interesting. 15 minutes is not enough time to recoup from a lost in space setup. Not to mention, it seems like at least one truck always spins out in any practice at Martinsville. So qualifying tomorrow will be tense. Not to mention the six drivers left vying for a title.

Sauter would be the only deserving Truck champion at this point. He would certainly be the most deserving, though Brett Moffitt and Noah Gragson have had strong seasons as well. Moffitt has almost as many wins but has just run into more problems (he has 10 top 5s but no finishes between 6th and 10th), and Gragson has led almost as many laps as Sauter.

Sauter - 857 points, 6 wins, 14 top 5s, 16 top 10s, 584 laps led, 5.8 average finish Moffitt - 692 points, 4 wins, 10 top 5s, 10 top 10s, 191 laps led, 10.0 average finish Gragson - 762 points, 1 win, 6 top 5s, 14 top 10s, 546 laps led, 9.0 average finish Sauter leads Moffitt by 165 points (2.8 full races), 2 wins, 4 top 5s, 6 top 10s, 393 laps led and 4.2 spots per race. He leads Gragson by 95 points (1.6 full races), 5 wins, 8 top 5s, 2 top 10s, 38 laps led and 3.2 spots per race. Gragson would be more deserving than Moffitt, but he still wouldn't be nearly as deserving as Sauter. It's not really close, at all.

No; I realize is isn't really close. I was just saying that Moffitt or Gragson wouldn't be terrible champions, if it turns out that way. They've both had good seasons, too. But for sure, Sauter has been the best driver this year.
