A pretty good race, even if Truex did have the best car and led the bulk of it. It's inescapably clear, comparing this race to last years, that the high-horsepower, low-downforce package is the right solution to improving the quality of racing. Hopefully NASCAR notices, drops their foolish 550 horsepower high-downforce package, and makes plans to slash even more downforce out of the next-gen car (but I wouldn't hold my breath on that). I think it's also clear that Larson, for all he can be blindingly fast at times, struggles with finishing races (and, in consequence, is unlikely to ever be a champion).
A couple of cars had remarkably hard hits into the inside backstretch wall after spinning coming off turn 2. ISC might want to think about tearing up some of the pavement there and putting in a gravel trap, to slow the cars down before they reach the wall.
