Hello all,
The Spotter's Stand Fantasy Game will be a new game for the 2019 season. It will consist of an overall championship and championships in individual series. The overall championship will be a player's combined points total for every series championship. The game is simple: each week, a player picks one driver in each race. You can pick a driver however many times you want throughout the year. You will get the amount of points that driver scores added to your championship total. In series with a playoff, if you meet that playoff criteria in this league (example: Cup Series playoffs, must be top-30 in points, make picks every week and have enough wins/be in on points) you will qualify for the playoffs in that series. Basically, each series is structured as it is in real life. You, the player, are a "driver" in that series, the driver you pick is your "representative" in that week's race and your performance is judged relative to other players' picks.
Here are there series that will be a part of the overall championship in 2019. Each series will have its own separate championship, as well.
-Monster Energy Cup
-Xfinity Series
-Camping World Truck Series
-Pinty's Series
-K&N Pro Series West
-K&N Pro Series East
-Whelen Modified Tour
-Peak Mexico Series
-Whelen Euro Series Elite 1 Division
-Whelen Euro Series Elite 2 Division
-Verizon IndyCar Series
-Indy Lights Series
-Formula One Series
-Virgin Australia Supercars
-ACT Late Model Tour
-CARS Super Late Model Tour
-CARS Late Model Stock Tour
-ABB Formula E Series
I may add or subtract series as time goes on. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin on December 15, 2018 with the first Formula E race.
The idea here is to provide a fantasy league for people who follow all types of racing and for those who follow only one or a few. Each individual championship will be an important achievement, and they are the main focus. The overall champion deserves recognition, as well, though, because that person was the best over all the series. The exact points system for the overall championship is still being finalized, and I hope to share it a little later on.
I encourage you to participate in at least one series (preferably more - this could open your horizons to all different kinds of racing) and invite your friends to join, as well. Please let me know if there are any questions, and we'll see you come race time!
