While the obvious choice is that either Elliott or Truex will advance to the round of 4, my gut feeling is that Bowyer is somehow going to advance to the round of 4. Even though he hasn't really done much at Phoenix, I somehow feel like he's going to have that "Bonzo" race and make it into the round of 4. Obviously, I'd rather see Elliott and Almirola get in, along with some disaster that happens to the 18 and causes him to miss the round of 4. I can't even imagine Kyle's interview if that happened.

Maybe he can do something like crash on lap 305 and have an impact on who makes it to the final four at Homestead! |

Sorry disagree outside of last year Joey has put up results that were very much worth inclusion in the Final Four. I’m assuming you probably don’t like Joey and I’m sorry to say but that’s not a valid reason for him to be not included in the Final Four. |

No, but the fact that several other drivers (including his teammate, who I also don’t like) have had better seasons than him is a valid reason. |

And yes I realize he’s top four in most basic statistical categories. He’s very good at top five/tenning the field to death and most of his laps led have been on short tracks where there are more laps. Haven’t checked in a few weeks but he’s faring much worse in more advanced stats like driver rating, average running position, etc.

Logano ranks...
3rd in full-season points
6th (tied) in wins
4th in top 5s
3rd in top 10s
4th in laps led
3rd in average finish
2nd among playoff drivers in laps completed
1st (tied) in lead lap finishes
7 top 5 finishes (and no finish worse than 14th) in the last 11 races
...I don't care much for him either, but this definitely looks like a season worthy of being in the final four.

Actually looks like he's moved way up lately in some of the more advanced stats, including the two I mentioned. However he's also the only driver in the top ten in regular season points who has a negative net green flag pass differential.
But whatever, either way he's leagues behind the top three and would be a joke of a champion.

I didn't realize how quietly good of a season Kurt's been having until I looked that up. He's top five in virtually every metric, even the advanced ones. |
