I hope he can go out on top, with a win.

I hope he can go out on top, with a win. Unlike many drivers in their final race, I would say he actually has a legitimate chance to accomplish that. Not only is he a good plate racer, but he has always had an unusual knack for winning big races at important moments.

Open full-time teams are #77 Spire Motorsports, #00 StarCom Racing, #72 TriStar Motorsports, #32 Go Fas Racing, #41 Stewart-Haas Racing, #51 Rick Ware Racing & #52 Rick Ware Racing. My guess is that Corey ends up in the #72 full-time, since he already ran part-time for that team in 2018.

According to some things I saw online, it sounds like LaJoie might be headed to the #32.

That would make sense. And do we know for sure if TriStar will be back? Been kind of out of the loop lately.

We don't know, but I'd assume not. There are currently 37 charters accounted for (if RWR does in fact acquire a 2nd), and TriStar is the only team to not really mention anything of their plans. I have a feeling Bryan Smith doesn't really want to run the team anymore. He shut down their Xfinity program after 2017.

Although their Twitter says they're looking forward to 2019.

Here is the current charter situation:
CGR: 2 FRM: 3 Germain: 1 Go Fas: 1 HMS: 4 JGR: 4 JTG: 2 LFR: 1 Premium: 1 RCR: 2 RPM: 1 RWR: 2 RFR: 2 Spire: 1 SCR: 1 SHR: 4 Penske: 3 TSM: 1 WBR: 1
That accounts for 37 charters. The only cars left with unannounced drivers are the 00, 32, 41, 51, 52, 72 & 77. The 41 is likely going to be Suarez, so that isn't going anywhere. The 77 was just bought, so that's not going anywhere, either. Ware has announced they intend to run 2 chartered cars, so the 51 & 52 are there. That leaves the 00, 32 & 72. It could be any of those 3 that are going away (though it would be more likely to be the 00 or 72, since the 32 actually owns a charter.)

The 00 team used an RCR charter last year, and the 72 team used an FRM charter last year. RCR isn't running 3 cars in '19, and FRM isn't running 4. But it seems more likely that the FRM charter would be transferred to Ware, first off because RCR and SCR both run Chevrolets, but also because leasing a charter from FRM would probably be less expensive and more in Ware's price range.

It sounds like Carl Long's team will be focusing on Xfinity racing in 2019. They still plan to run Daytona with Timmy Hill, and they'll also enter a 2nd car with driver TBA.
