Assuming LFR switches to Toyota, I wonder how much it will help them. I think people are quick to forget (I did myself until looking it up recently) that Furniture Row didn't become successful because they switched to Toyota. In his second season in the #78, Martin Truex Jr. made it to the final four while the team was still aligned with RCR and the car was a Chevy. Certainly, the switch to Toyota and the JGR alliance helped, but it wasn't what took them from a 25th-place team to a top team.
